If you need a reminder, we are currently facing a global pandemic – I am obviously being precocious. While we are at home isolating why not start a skincare routine? These 3 DIY Face Masks using ingredients from your kitchen are an easy and fun way to get started.
Many of us are starting to implement workouts, learning new skills and taking up new hobbies. Your skin care routine can definitely count as a hobby/ distraction/ way to kill time.
The benefits to implementing a skin care routine are endless:
- Your skin will look better
- It will look healthier
- You may notice fewer fine lines and wrinkles
- A more even tone
- Combat dullness
- Reduce the appearance of age spots /sun damage
- MOST IMPORTANTLY good skin will improve your confidence
- Taking time to do something for yourself will boost your mood.
Think of your skin care routine as you would a workout routine. The more we keep at it the sooner we will see the results we want.
Before trying one of these 3 DIY face masks, wash your face.
Remove debris that may have accumulated on your skin during the day prior to masking. Even if you aren’t wearing makeup cleansing is good practice because:
- Dust and pollution accumulate on the surface of our skin making nutrient rich masks work less effectively
- You simply cannot apply a mask onto a full face of makeup. It’ll end up being really messy and ineffective.
Moral of the story: give your face a good ol cleanse prior to treating it with an amazing nutrient rich mask.

The best time to try one of these DIY face mask is actually after exfoliating. Because when we exfoliate, we remove the dead skin cells and our mask is able to nourish the new healthy cells that are revealed.
