Four Body Care Routine Must Haves

Skincare for the body.

Body Care has become one of the most talked about categories in the beauty industry. Gone are the days of only using a bar of soap. Nowadays the body care aisle is packed with “skincare” for your body. Most of us cleanse our face, use a serum and moisturizer, the same is becoming true for body care routines. In this post I am sharing FOUR body care routine must haves that I personally can not live without plus a little DIY option at the end.

Step 1:

The first step to any good skincare routine is to use a cleanser that doesn’t strip or dehydrate our skin barrier. And if you aren’t using a good cleanser I highly recommend you try one because it is a game changer when it comes to a healthy happy skin.

My absolute favourite body wash is  La Roche Posay’s Lipikar Gentle Cleansing Oil

Laroche possay Lipikar cleansing oil.

  • La Roche Posay’s Lipikar Gentle Cleansing Oil is a nourishing elixir designed to transform dry, uncomfortable, and itchy skin.
  • The lightweight, non-greasy and unscented formula offers deep hydration, leaving the skin feeling soft and smooth.
  • The Lipikar Gentle Cleansing Oil delivers deep nourishment for people of all ages.
  • Whether you’re a parent looking to pamper your baby’s delicate skin or an adult seeking a luxurious skin treat, this cleansing oil is the perfect choice to protect the skin against the drying effects of hard water and cold weather.

Step 2: Moisturizer

The second step most people take when it comes to their skin care routines is moisturizing. Moisturizing is a crucial step to keep our skin feeling supple, hydrated and itch free throughout the cooler months.

Another must have from La Roche Posay is their Lipikar AP+M Baume

Lipikar Baume.

  • Moisturizing is an essential part of any routine and Lipikar Baume AP+M  is the ideal face and body moisturizer to eliminate severely dry, itchy, eczema-prone skin, clinically proven to reduce itching by half, thanks to soothing ingredients like shea butter and niacinamide.
  • Lipikar Baume AP+M  strengthens the skin’s moisture barrier and provides long-lasting 48-hour hydration, working closely with oncologists, one of La Roche-Posay’s core values is improving the quality of life for those who suffer from severe skin side effects and who might have skin issues caused by cancer treatments, with suitable solutions.
  • Lipikar Baume AP+M  is $33.95CAD, available  on larocheposay.ca and in drug stores across Canada.
  • La Roche-Posay, a proud supporter of the Canadian Cancer Society, is honoured to announce the limited edition Lipikar Baume AP+M Proud Support Edition designed in collaboration with Tristan, an 8-year-old cancer survivor, to further raise awareness on the benefits of supportive care.

Step 3

Treat – Treating specific skincare concerns with active ingredients. We are all familiar with ingredients such as retinol, glycolic acid and hyaluronic acid to treat specific skincare concerns. Now we can find these incredible active ingredients in body care.

Two of my favourites are:

The Neoastrata Glycolic Renewal Smoothing LotionNeostrata Glycolic renewal smoothing lotion.

Glycolic acid is the best ingredient to achieve smooth skin. If like me you get those annoying little bumps on your arms you will want to start using Glycolic Acid in your body care routine.

Not only will this incredible body lotion help smooth out texture it also smooths out fine lines and wrinkles.

Use it on your neck, chest and hands for best results!

You can also use this product on your face 🙂

Versed Retinol Body Lotion

Versed Retinol Body Lotion

We all know and love Retinol for being an anti-aging powerhouse. This Body lotion by Versed is incredible because it really does tighten the skin on our bodies especially around the knees and elbows.

This product is also not tested on animals and is free from parabens, sulphates, formaldehyde and SLS’s

Now that our skin is feeling pampered and wonderful, take it to the next level by exfoliating.

Exfoliation

Brown Sugar scrub

Exfoliation is great for sloughing off dead skin cells and dry skin but it’s also amazing for helping our amazing body care products be more effective.

My favourite way to exfoliate my skin is by using a sugar scrub. Sugar is the perfect texture for exfoliating our skin and making your own DIY sugar scrub is so easy and fun.

What you need:

  • Sugar – any sugar is fine as long as it’s granulated
  • Coconut oil
  • Essential oil – this is optional I like peppermint or citrus scents

How to:

  • Combine 1 cup sugar with 1/4 oil and a few drops of your favourite essential oil – the essential oil is to add a scent to your scrub.
  • Mix it all together and keep in a mason jar it’s literally that easy!

A good body care routine can really change the way you feel in your skin especially during the cold months.
