Honest Dyson Airwrap Review

Dyson Airwrap Styler.

The Dyson Airwrap is the hottest item right now. I personally think that the pandemic has a lot to do with the Airwrap’s popularity. But I will elaborate on that in a minute. Before I get started, I want to express that I bought the Airwrap and that it was not gifted to me by the company. Without further ado here is my honest Dyson Airwrap Review.

What’s Included Dyson Airwrap Complete Styler:

A huge part of why I found this product so appealing is because of all the attachments it comes with. The thought of never having to deal with 10 different chords was a major deciding factor for me. Not only do you get a blow dryer and curling barrels you also get additional attachments when you purchase the complete styler.

Dyson Airwrap Attachments:

  • 1.2 inch Airwrap™ barrels—engineered to create voluminous curls or waves.
  • 1.6 inch Airwrap™ barrels—engineered to create loose curls or waves.
  • Firm smoothing brush—engineered to smooth and control frizz-prone hair.
  • Soft smoothing brush—engineered to gently align and smooth fine hair.
  • Round volumizing brush—engineered to volumize and shape fine, flat hair.
  • Pre-styling dryer—takes hair from wet to damp, to prep for styling.
  • Dyson Airwrap™ Base.
  • Storage case—neatly stores your Dyson Airwrap™ styler and its attachments.

To my surprise the round brush attachment has been incredible and the one that I use all the time. It’s especially amazing for in between wash days when your hair needs a touch up. Back to my point about the attachments, it is a total game changer, having a hair styler that does so much but only has one chord is INCREDIBLE!

Surely I can’t be alone here. Trying to juggle 10 different tools with all the chords was a disaster. Having an Airwrap with one chord has literally improved my quality of life :p

Performance:

Now the part that is most important to all of us. How does a $700 hair tool perform?

Let’s first talk about my hair type. I wasn’t blessed with hair that cooperates, quite the opposite. I have fine (it’s fin in texture but there’s a lot of it), frizzy hair, it’s very dry and brittle and it’s prone to heat damage. I rarely colour it so it’s not anything that I do to/with my hair it’s just naturally very temperamental.

I didn’t have hight hopes for the Dyson Airwrap despite the price tag but when you have difficult hair you are willing to try anything. And trust me I have tried everything! Every tool and product out there. So when I decided to invest in the Airwrap I was trying to manage my expectations. Just because it has a $700 price tag it doesn’t mean that it’s going to work on my hair.

But the idea of less chords and less heat damage had me curious to give this glorified blow dryer a whirl.

Here’s a quote from their website regarding heat damage “No extreme heat damage—intelligent heat control measures air temperature over 40 times a second to prevent extreme heat damage while styling.”

First Impressions:

The first time I used the Airwrap I couldn’t believe how easy and quick it was to get the hang of. I was a bit intimidated by it but the learning curve was so easy. The curling barrels do everything for you and the results are PHENOMENAL.

6 MONTHS later…

Honest Dyson Airwrap Review.

I have had the Dyson Airwrap for 6 months now and I couldn’t be more in love. For the first time in my life I actually love the way my hair looks. I am constantly blown away by how great it looks, how much volume it has and how much healthier it looks since I packed away all my other tools.

For someone like me with very temperamental hair it’s almost overwhelming to be able to style my hair and love it.

In all the years of trying different tools, techniques, products I have never been able to achieve a style that held and made me feel confident and beautiful.

Why I think the pandemic contributed to the Airwrap’s success:

This is a personal opinion but I think that the Airwrap has been such a major success not only because it is incredible but also because we have all been stuck at home to some extent. We have all been experimenting with new at home grooming products and techniques due to salon closures and I for one have enjoyed learning how to style my hair like a pro from the comfort of my own home.

Final Thoughts:

In conclusion I feel that the Dyson Airwrap is the best investment I have ever made for my hair. I love it and would buy it again in a heartbeat. In the long run I believe that the Airwrap is going to save me money because I don’t feel the need to go out and buy every new product that launches.

There is no doubt in my mind that this hair tool is worth every penny.
